Software Developer (Healthcare)

ENT and Allergy Associates, New York & New Jersey's premier ENT and Allergy medical practice, is seeking a self-motivated,  people-friendly full time Software Developer for the Special Projects Team working out of the Corporate office.



The Special Projects Team Developer will require a balance between managerial duties and advanced technological skills and experience.  They are integral to project development and success.  They are extremely hands on in the development cycle down to the coding of the solutions they manage.

They must be able to estimate project time-lines and make accurate guesstimates based on years of development experience.  The project team members are extremely hands on managing both their own expertise and the expertise of others to complete their projects on time and to budget.

The Special Projects team are often assigned technical projects which do not fit in any other technical job role or area.  These projects require years of technical experience, knowledge of the health care industry and good project management skills.


Operational Management

  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of projects
  • Anticipating issues and acting proactively to address potential issues
  • Gathering and updating project materials, completing budgeting, forecasting, project documentation, business flows, etc.
  • Use third party development tools to ease end user workload and workflow where possible
  • Healthcare System experience required to include development, upgrades, conversions, interfaces, BBP management, monitoring and testing.  We prefer Nextgen experience but Epic, Centricity, Allscripts also a plus.


Position Requirements


Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of the NextGen application and Database.
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft SQL server.
  • Experience in programming languages such as NET, PHP, HTML5, etc.
  • Experience in reporting technologies such as SQL Reporting Services, Crystal, etc.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
  • Strong documentation skills.
